"Beachgoers who flocked to the shore to take advantage of lower prices and thinner crowds have discovered narrow beaches full of sharp rocks, seashells and debris.
Every beach from Rehoboth to Ocean City faced heavy erosion due to the low-pressure system that stalled out in the Atlantic last week.
'At its worst, we had 6- to 8-feet waves and a storm surge up into the dunes,' said Ray Tartal, chief of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol. During high tide, he said Rehoboth Beach disappeared completely."
