"A well-known surfer and Solana Beach resident was sentenced to four years in prison yesterday for driving drunk in a car crash that killed his 24-year-old passenger about 15 months ago in Del Mar.
Shortly before the sentencing, Milton Willis, 53, apologized for the death of Bradley Dillahunty, 24, who had befriended Willis as a student at the older man's surf school.
Superior Court Judge Daniel Goldstein said Willis' statement, in which he also asked rhetorically why someone didn't call him a cab to keep him from driving, was lacking."
