Charles Martin is stoked to have won a contest in his home nation...kind of. The ripper from Guadeloupe, an overseas region of France in the Caribbean, emerged victorious at the 2010 Oakley Pro Junior stop in Lacanau, France on Sunday. He topped Hossegor native Pierre-Valentin Laborde on his home turf during a heated final in consistent three-foot surf. Martin was in top form, snagging the contest's best wave in the semifinals. His momentum continued right into the final, where he sealed the deal with solid wave selection and strategy. With two victories in two of his past three events on the ASP European Junior Tour - combined with a fifth place finish, Martin locked up 2010 European Junior title.
